Research Your Market
By admin | September 16, 2008
I am still looking at how you might want to research your potential market and by doing so narrowing down the niches until you find one that suits you.
Have a think about competitive research. I looked at this briefly in my post yesterday. Start by looking at the ads connected to your market by typing in the keywords that you researched earlier. Use Google to find the adwords listings and the organic listings in your potential market.
Have a look at clickbank. If you go there and have a look the marketplace you will find all sorts of digital products relevant to your market. Its a great way to find affilaite products as well as to research potential products of your own. Typically you would start off by promoting products as an affiliate and possible move onto producig your own.
Another site to look at is commissionjunction.
This is a site for more tangible goods, you know more physical goods, whereas clickbank is for digital downloadable products. You will want to look at both as its great way to find competitors and affiiate programmes.
Another site which is an obvious one really and one you will have heard of unless you have been in a coma for the last few years is ebay. Again that is a great research tool to find all sorts of products in your potential market. You can see what you r market is buying, monitor it by the bids and see what keywords are being used.
These 3 sites are great for preliminary research, to see what is out there, who is your competition and where there might be potential gaps to exploit.
Til next time
Jane
