More Requirements for Blogging Success

This is a short post following up on yesterdays. I have been thinking about it again and there is an obvious glaring omission. You have to be prepared to market,yes market your blog. This is something that I have not really concentrated on,mainly because it takes time to write the posts, write articles and all the other stuff that goes with blogging. You need to take the piggy to market though!
This means amongst other things,getting links to your blogs,commenting on other blogs, and being willing to participate. Join forums and try and help others in similar situations to your own. I have found considerable support (particularly on the technical side) from these sources and you should explore them as well. Its a big internet world out there and there are a lot of opportunities to bring your blog into it. It cant stand on its own and you need to put the effort in to promote it. I am going to be trying out a number of techniques over the coming weeks and will report back on my results.
Get involved in the community. There are lots of forums and blogs out there. Dont give up and dont burn out.Its better to spend an hour a day for 24 days than spend 24 hours in one day. Just be consistent.
Finally there are many ways to promote your blog, whether it be through social networking like twitter or posting videos on youtube,linking forums or commenting. Have you found any that work well? If so post a comment and lets start a discussion!
