Keyword Research: Find the Top 100 Keywords
By admin | July 7, 2008
If you are ever going to get traffic to your site, you need to find the phrases and words that people are actually typing in. You need this for everything you do on your website, in any articles, in the pages on your website and anything to do with the content.
You have to research in your marketplace. You make decisions based on what other people are typing. It does take time and there is effort involved but you need to get results and there is no point in just looking at a phrase that all of your competitors might be using because there is simply too much competition to stand out. You will find that you need to drill down in keyword research to find the most popular keywords and keyword phrases
The best tool I’ve found is Wordtracker You can get a free trial. It is certainly worth doing that and getting a feel for the product. It will give you the top 100 keywords or if you prefer the top 1000 in a given area if you type in your “seed” keyword first. You are going to find this tool invaluable when you are starting out and I know some internet marketers have used this for years and would not think of being without it. It costs a small amount and the more you use it,the more you will find within it.
There are some great tools in wordtracker and you will find that the time you take to work through the videos and general content pays dividends.
Get some key phrases. Look for around 10 that are rank highly in Wordtracker and create a page specific to that content.
