Get Blogging!

I have been a bit naughty this week and havent posted as much as I should have done but hey! life gets in the way. I am absolutely convinced that blogging is the way to get a quick presence on the internet but it requires committment and energy and its hard work.
There are a few pointers I would like to share with you. I am not going to be one of these who write along the lines of do as I say, not as I do. I know its hard and we all have “off” weeks.
So what do you do when you are thinking of blogging
- be consistent. If you can only blog once a week then just do it once a week. The aim should be to do a post every day if you can but if you cant dont beat yourself up
- Understand your audience. Try and create posts of value. Consider their wants and needs. Hopefully they (and you!) will come back for more
- Write in a human way. You have to bear in mind the search engines but dont get preoccupied by SEO,(search engine otimisation) your writing should be natural and flow. Its not always achievable but practice helps
- Be honest. The best bloggers are the ones who are honest. Try not to hold anything back
- Be creative. The internet is constanlty changing. You cant be static. You should consider video, audis and other techniques to make your blog interactive. I havent got to grips with video yet but I will and you will get the benefit of that because I am going ot be posting about this over the next few days.
- Keep motivated. There are lots of ways to get your blog out there, but it takes time. This doesnt happen overnight.
- Use as many marketing methods as you can to drive traffic to your blog. Consider article marketing,posting in forums, social bookmarking , etc.
- Keep your focus. My plan is to replace my income by doing this within 12 months and help others to do the same if I can. You will also have a plan and you need to commit to it.
- Enjoy! This is a steep learning curve for me and it will be for you. You will learn more and more each day so stick at it.
- Follow me. You can subscribe to my list by following the “freebie” link at the top of the page. I have spent over $4000 on a course with a leading internet marketer. I am going to share what I learn with you, starting with a free mini course thats available now and there will be tons of information coming your way in the next few weeks and months.
