Finding Readers For Your Posts
By admin | August 13, 2008
I am writing this on my back up laptop ( I am very fortunate that I got one *free* when I went on a course in America earlier this year.) My other grown up laptop has been attacked by a trojan, the sort that friendly people attach to emails and websites to create havoc and misery and considerable expense. Its a salient lesson for me and perhaps you if you are thinking of blogging for a business. Get some sort of back up facility. I am going for a desktop back up rather than a mobile one because the advice is that they are better and there isnt much difference in price.
I wont know what I have lost untilĀ I get my laptop back but theres bound to be a problem. Its a bit like being broken into I guess, you dont realise something has gone until you try to use it! Anyway, its the trials and tribulations of the internet. Get some back up!
Anyway, to the subject in hand, finding readers for your posts. Here are a number of thoughts that you might like to ponder! In no particular order
- Comment on related blogs and respond when comments are left on your own.
- Join forums in your field and take an active part in discussions.
- The 3 “Ps” Persistence, patience and promotion. These things dont happen overnight.
- Post frequently.
- Quality content
- Join Social Networks.
- Find effective Post Titles that might grab attention. Obviously you will need the content in there as well and a connection between title and post!
- Educate your readers
- Personalise it. Its not all business, its fun as well….hopefully!
Til next time when I will be back on my grown up laptop unless it has bitten the dust.
Jane
