Building a High Traffic Blog Hints and Tips in The post Traffic Secrets 2.0 World

A couple of days ago John Reese published traffic secrets 2, I have been thinking a lot about traffic and what tips might help. I have bought his product and will be reviewing it in a later post but for now, what do you have to consider when maximising your blog for traffic. There are a few pointers.
- Create valuable original content. There is just so much to write about but there is a lot of rubbish out there. Write what you know about and if you dont know,research it properly. Think about providing valuable information and focus on that. Dont just churn out meaningless drivel,simply to get a post up. Think of all the people you are trying to reach and what they might like to read.
- Write for people not computers. There is plenty of advice out there on using keywords and maximising your posts to try and get up the google rankings which is fine and dandy and you must not lose sight of that but you are first and foremost communicating with people not machines.
- Think about what you want to achieve if you manage to build a website or blog with loads of traffic. This is a privileged position, its hard to achieve and whilst money might be your motivation. you need to think about how you will respect that position and your readers and subscribers.You owe it to them and yourself to think about what you will do in the future. Can you sustain this or will you find yourself succumbing to meaningless drivel?
- Get real. Share your stories and let your readers see the real you. This isnt easy if you are an intensely private person but it will help your readers and subscribers to feel an emotional connection and a trust in you.
- Keep money in perspective. It is obviously important and as internet marketers, we are in the business of making money. Does it have to be the prime motivator? Consider giving lots of things for free. My intention is to give as much free information and products as I can. Thats how I like to be treated and I trust wordof mouth to do the rest. Once you have sufficient traffic,it isnt that hard to monetize it without being a monster. Treat others as you would wish to be treated and the rewards will come.
- Treat people like human beings not as sales targets. Dont think of yourself as a sales person but as a solution provider and ultimately traffic will come.
- Post good quality content regularly and provide alternatives to text. Consider video, and post them on video sharing sites as well.
- Be patient. Free targeted traffic does exist,it just takes time to develop.
- Be disciplined. If you post regularly on varied topics and keep it entertaining, traffic will start to come.
