3 Types of Blog Post

By admin | August 8, 2008

Well I didnt manage to get the courgette (zucchini) soup done. Neither did I manage to get the last post up because I forgot to publish it. Ah well, the perils of the internet.

I didnt get round to creating my soup because my sister called from her holidays asking me to sort out her house alarm which was going off. This created a round trip of over two hours to pick up keys from parents, find out what the problem was, reset alarm and leave key with aggravated neighbour just in case it went off again. A bit of a waste of an evening and the vegetables still languish in my fridge!
Are you thinking you might get down to blogging? Apart from the technical side, what do you want to write about and why? For pleasure, for potential profit? Narrowing down your motivations will help you decide on the theme, look and feel of your blog.

What are the 3 most common types of blog post?

  1. Information. Where you give, you guessed it , information on something. You could be giving an definition of something or more likely,an explanation or a description of whatever your niche or interest might be.
  2. Instruction. Pretty self explanatory really. This is the one where you are telling people how to do something.People learn in different ways, some by the written word, some by hearing and some by watching. Many blogs these days will take advantage of text, audio and video. Not this one because I am not up to the mark yet on audio and video, but my typing skills are improving!
  3. Inspirational. Those sorts of posts that are the sort of “could be”stories. Stories of personal success that inspire others to carry on, either in that particular niche or in life!

There are many other types of post and you can probably think of some as well. Why dont you let me know what you think and your view might form the subject of another post.Come to think of it perhaps I should call that the “invite” post.
