The End for blogging?

Carry on blogging! In my previous posts in this series, I talked about setting up your database and your user and connecting the two. You now need to tell wordpress about it! Go back and look at the folder where you downloaded wordpress and look for wp-config-sample file. If you right click on it you can rename it, just take out the sample bit and rename it wp-config.You will then need to open it and edit it by giving it the database uname user name and password. Once you have done that, save it.
Wordpress now knows the name of the database, the name of the user and given it all the information it needs so now you need to use the FTP software to grab those files off your computer and send them to your website.
If you are using the free trial for coffeecup as I recommend then you need to crank that up ,click on select servers and look for your website name ,click on that which connects you to the server. On the left hand side is your computer, thats all the stuff on your computer and on the right hand side is the website.There will already be some files in there which are the basic things so dont worry about those.
Look for the wordpress folder on the left hand side,there will be number of folders and files in there. Highlight them and drag them across to the www folder on your website. Its just a click and drag manoevre and once its done, it will probably take a few minutes to transfer everything, so go and grab a cup of tea or a beer or something.
Now you are done and its time to start posting.
I know its technical stuff and some of you will get it straight away and some of you wont. I certainly didnt and spent a lot of frustrating time trying to get to grips with it but persevere and you will get there.
